Blog #5

These poems are different than ones we've previously read because, they tell a story. Rather than drawing the reader in with some witty rhyme the poems keep the readers (in the case of Jennifer Knox's Chicken Bucket) intrigued with a sexual drug filled story (as much as everyone would hate to admit it 9 times out of 10 that's what most people are attracted too). These types of poems are called Narrative poems.

The poem Chicken Bucket written by Jennifer Knox goes after every aspect that intrigues the average person. The poem contains drugs, sex, food and family drama, its like a trap. A few characteristics that could describe Knox would be sexual, misunderstood (some people might not be able to understand what shes getting at in the poem( I know I don't)), drug enthusiast. Sex is a big part of her narrative poem.

I think this poem is in no way part of reality. Everything going on in the poem is just too ridiculous to happen in real life ( 13 year old girl buying liqueur, 13 year old girl having sex with basically everyone she meets).
