My reaction to the "more than just dolls" page is, I agree with it 100%. Young girls do look at dolls and get that image stuck in their head as do young boys. The "Perfect" image. The boys think hey Batmans completely ripped does that mean I should be, or the girls, "barbie has a perfect body and has all these nice things, so if I look like that will I"? It just puts a lot of pressure on children.
I do believe body image is still a huge issue in the world today. Everyone wants to have the "perfect" body and are willing to go great lengths to get it like it matters that much. Sure being fit and in shape is healthy, but people go beyond those lengths. Men, woman and children in foreign countries are dying of famine and drought and look like they weigh next to nothing. It sickens me to say it but some woman would do anything to look like they do. The show called "America's Next Top Model" shows some of the lengths woman have to go to be considered "pretty", its ridiculous.
It just makes me sad that some people cant be happy with what they were given.
